Michael’s work is thorough and pristine. He has done great work in preparing music for my clients and transcribing their songs. He is my ‘go-to’ audition cut guy.
— Stephen Purdy, author and vocal coach

Michael’s journey into the world of developing the ‘ideal sheet music for auditioning’ sprung from his frustration that most songs in the musical theatre canon weren’t meant to be performed in just forty-five seconds, let alone the fact that it’s nearly impossible to write in everything an accompanist needs to know using sticky notes and pencil marks without leaving the page appearing messy and confusing. Well, after years of formatting trial and error, Michael successfully debuted his new and improved audition music to casting directors in NYC and immediately began seeing positive results—praise started flowing from both pianists and music directors and his rate of being called back dramatically increased. This soon led many respected voice teachers and audition coaches to refer their students to him for help and Michael is now able to offer his services to performers around the country.

But he didn’t stop there, and now Michael has become an expert at creating dramatic arrangements that give cleverly-crafted arcs to any song, from Cole Porter to Rodgers & Hammerstein to Jessie J. It is unbelievably easier to thrive in high-stress environments when the music accompanying your performance actually supports your storytelling and compliments the work you’re presenting in the room. There is no better feeling than knowing you have truly set yourself up for success by supplying your pianist with every bit of information needed to help you shine and book the role.

Everyone wins.

Once a PDF or JPEG copy of your music has been sent to Michael, he will consult his wildly extensive collection of scores (so he can reference the source material) and will get to work using a professional notation software to create your perfect audition cut. He has the ability to compile edits, alter time signatures, extend note values, add powerful endings, mark expressive notations, transpose keys, and more! Michael is also experienced at generating new accompaniments for pop/rock songs which better suit a theatrical setting and closely recreate the recorded instrumentals of both the vocalist and the band. All selections are formatted identically, so your audition book will have a seamless and streamlined appearance if you wish to have multiple transcriptions created! Your satisfaction is guaranteed and your audition binder will definitely thank you.
